James Daponte grew up in the small town of Morin-Heights in the Laurentians, and at 17 made the decision to become an actor and move to Montreal to pursue that dream.
James has always been interested in studying this world of storytelling, from the fundamentals of film genres to motion capture rendering for video games. He is a graduate from the Dawson College Professional Theatre Program where he was awarded the “Beryl and Willy Moser” award for outstanding acting in 2014. His credits include John Dodge in Middletown, Bottom in A Midsummers Night’s Dream, as well as multiple comedy shows in the city. James has also directed and starred in a short film titled: A Very Snug and Snout Christmas.
He is currently in school for a Bachelor of Arts Major in Psychology at the University of Concordia.
